Óscar Fernández:“We want to claim the win against Orihuela CF to boost the team’s morale”

VCF Mestalla’s head coach Óscar Fernández looked ahead to the upcoming home meeting in group III B of Segunda B after back-to-back away fixtures against SCR Peña Deportiva.

VCF Mestalla will welcome near-neighbours Orihuela CF at the Antonio Puchades at 12 pm kick-off time where they will look to clamber up the table  and pull further away from the bottom half of the table.

“We’re looking forward to Sunday. The boys are fine, they put a shift in, make an effort and work. They try to generate and offer many things. We’re edging closer to the win and what a better moment than after consecutive draws to make them valuable with a home win against Orihuela CF.

I’m expecting a compact Orihuela side trying to probe in wide areas and a game with many individual duels. They’re an energetic side on the back foot who generates many things in possession. Despite their recent results, they had a great run of results in the first team which edged the closer to the higher reaches of the table. It’s a highly contested league.

They’re are going to make things tough for us and we have to focus on ourselves. Searching that effective every Sunday. Looking to showcase the things we are doing right and bring back the sensations that we’ve been showing going forward: breaking into the box, creating chances, growing and taking steps forward.
